Before beginning the "Configuring a Widget" module, you need to choose the widget best suited to your needs. If you are unsure which widget is most appropriate, feel free to refer to the "Widget Library" chapter.

Widgets are used in dashboards and synthesis to display key performance indicators of your assets. Most of widgets have:

  • A name
  • Ranges defined by thresholds and colors
  • A default period
  • Indicator(s) (see the section below)
  • A temporal resolution
  • Comparison period(s) (for some of them)
  • A default period (in dashboards only)

Instructions

From your dashboard or summary, switch to edit mode, then click the green "+" to select a type of widget to add. Once selected, drag it to the summary to place it.

It’s now time to define your widget’s properties!

Widgets settings

This section will help you understand how to configure all the widgets available in the library.

1. Name

The "Name" tab is mandatory and helps understand the indicator displayed on your dashboard or summary.

As shown below, the name is always placed above your widget. It is the only precise information to qualify your widget, so it is essential to choose clear and concise terms!

2. Default Period

The default period allows you to determine which period you want your widget data to display by default when loading the "Dashboard" or "Summary" page.

A precise day-to-day comparison is also possible thanks to the "Previous Year (Day)" feature, which compares data belonging to the same type of day: a Monday is compared with a Monday. This feature differs from the "Previous Year (Date)" feature, which allows comparisons based on the exact date (January 2 of year N with January 2 of year N-1).

  • Multisite Dashboard: The default period will always be annual, either rolling or not. Users can also modify the analysis period by clicking the date selector. The selected date is not saved, so reloading the page will reset the dates, and the default analysis period will apply again.

  • Single Site Summary: You can set the period to display your indicator over a monthly, weekly, or daily period. It is also possible to configure your widgets to show indicator results during your Energy Performance Contract (EPC) engagement period.

Note: Some widgets do not have an analysis period: action widget, note widget, alert widget, sensor monitoring widget...

3. Indicators

Indicators specify the source and type of data you want to use in your widget. Note that there are three different data sources.

How to Access Data Integrated into the Platform?

You can access your data using the @ symbol before your indicator's name. Depending on the type of data you want to access, different algorithms and sources are available:

Asset Data:

Site-specific and global asset properties can be accessed using the $ symbol. You can add data such as volume, total area, number of openings.

Multisite Aggregation

The aggregation function indicates how to aggregate data from a multisite perspective.

  • Average: Calculates the average results of the indicator for a set of sites defined within the scope. If the indicator is a ratio (e.g., kWh/m²), the returned result will be the average of the ratios across all selected sites in the scope.

  • Sum: Calculates the sum of the indicator results for a set of sites defined within the scope. If the indicator is a ratio (e.g., kWh/m²), the returned result will be the sum of the ratios across all selected sites in the scope. If you want to perform a weighted average, check the "Calculate each formula member independently" box.

Adding Multiple Indicators to a Single Widget:

To add a new indicator, click the green "+" to the right of the "Indicator" box. The new element’s property window opens automatically, and you just need to configure the indicator as described above.

4. Filters

Multisite widgets accept filters. You can select one or more filters to limit the widget's analysis to sites matching those filters.

For example: I want to configure a simple indicator widget to calculate the energy consumption of my sites and filter for sites with the "office" typology.

To add a filter, you need to:

  • Click the green "+" and choose the type of filter you want to implement.
  • You can choose between alphanumeric values such as typology, country, or city, or numeric values such as total area or total volume.

Then click the green arrow to validate.

Remember always to save your changes on your widget, then on the summary or dashboard.
